Dr. Ole Langniß
Dr Ole Langniss, the company founder, has provided consulting services for public institutions and private companies on issues of energy policy for over 25 years. He has a wide range of experiences in the areas of energy economy, energy systems, energy policy and political, legal and regulatory consulting.
The project objectives he handled within the scope of his expertise include developing laws with a focus on renewable energies, introducing smart grids, rural electrification by means of renewable energies, organising a research collaboration for climate technology, strategy development for renewable energies and new energy technologies, frameworks for renewable energies and development of projects on climate protection.
In recent years, he has complemented his solid analytical background by working for a consulting company. He has worked in more than forty countries all over the world and has advised the Chinese government on the implementation of renewable energies for more than ten years.
Ole Langniss has published over 80 articles, studies and books and has held numerous presentations. Prior to his current position he worked for Fichtner GmbH & Co. KG, the not-for-profit research foundation for solar energy and hydrogen ZWS and the German Aerospace Center (DLR). He also spent a research semester at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratories in Berkeley, California. He was a Marie Curie post-doctoral fellow at Lund University, Sweden. He speaks German, English, Swedish and French. He has received international recognition, e.g. with his appointment as Lead Author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
His extensive, long-standing network includes state ministries of Baden-Wuerttemberg and other federal states of Germany, the German Federal Ministries for the Environment and the Economy, the European Union, the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). This is a major benefit for the communication between his clients and these institutions. Furthermore, thanks to various co-operations with partners in Germany and internationally, he is also extremely well-connected with suppliers. For IEA, Ole Langniss set up the “Renewable Energy Technology Deployment” implementing agreement and acted as its operating agent. Moreover, as the provisional managing director, he was involved in the set-up of the Smart Grids Plattform Baden-Württemberg e.V. association. He cultivates contacts in the energy economy, with project developers, representatives of politics and science, and other players.
